This sounds actually better & more concise than most of his albums of the period with the exception of „Oh Mercy“ & Time Out Of Mind“. Fortunately the compilers quit on the bar-music his Bobness seems to be so keen on during his later years. Although it’s „just“ a compilation this makes up to 1 of his most brilliant albums and mind you: a lot of singer/songwriters would be more than happy to have written just the songs compiled on 1 side of this album!!.
